A lovely early 1970’s Biba Jacket and Waistcoat. The lettering under the celtic label is “thin” which dates is post 1969, in line with the logo being introduced on to Biba makeup products.
While I have seen comparable jackets, in both red and black being sold, I have rarely seen the matching waistcoat with the jacket. Making this a desirable collectors piece.
Made from 100% cotton the jacket, in a deep black corduroy with a matte gold pattern, cropped fit and single button. Produced in Hong Kong, it’s features cuffed pockets and a notched lapel. Biba embossed buttons on front and sleeves. The shoulder pads give added structure.
The waistcoat has two cuffed pocket, and a single Biba embossed button. Both jacket and waistcoat have contrasting corduroy lapels.
Condition: Very good, there is very slight wear to the gold print, but please do look at images closely, this is hardly noticeable.
Both items come with the celtic Biba label and thin Biba tab on the outside of the garment.
Shoulder to shoulder: 17″
Please do check our other items as we have another waistcoat from the same period by BIBA.
